Troubleshoot no data or violations on the dashboard
Follow these steps to if there is no data or violations showing up on the dashboard
Updated over a week agoIf data or violations are not showing up on the dashboard, it could be for a few reasons.
Potential reasons why data or violations aren't showing on the dashboard
1. Edge device is offline (power/internet)
If the Edge device does not have power or access to a stable Internet connection, this could prevent information from showing up on your dashboard.
2. Faulty Edge device
Physical damage to the Edge device could also cause issues related to information not appearing on the dashboard.
3. DVR-Camera IP/Network/Credential change
Sometimes resolving network issues can result in changes being made on the network. For example, if the IP address for a camera gets changed, the Edge device won't find the camera until the new IP address is provided to the Edge device.
Follow these steps to identify why data or violations aren't showing on the dashboard
1. Make sure you have a proper power supply for the machine
Check the cables that connect the Edge device to your power supply. Sometimes a loose cable or electricity issues can prevent the Edge device from displaying data on your dashboard.
2. Check your Internet connection
Fluctuations in your Internet connection can cause delays or prevent the Edge device from showing data on your dashboard.
3. Check your Edge device
If you suspect there might be an issue with the Edge device itself, follow this guide.
4. Update the IP address if it was changed
If the IP address for any cameras or the Edge device was changed, those need to be updated so the Edge device can find them on your network.
